1st Presbyterian Osawatomie

Though we are almost 120 years old, we are, in many respects, a new congregation that has emerged over the last 10 years. Currently we are priviledged with a membership of 140. As you explore our website you will learn about:  a growing and ever changing Sunday School Program- a youth program which balances fun and mission- a program for building and grounds administered by talented and committed men- a caring and fun-loving group of women who lead us in fund-raising and mission. Our fellowship is the Presbyterian Church USA. However, many of our members come from various denominations along the Christian spectrum. We celebrate communion once a month. We celebrate the sacrament of Baptism for infants and adults.

Church Altar

Our congregation celebrates the Lord's Supper monthly.  This is one of two sacraments in the Presbyterian Church.  The other is Baptism.

Church Santuary

Our church sanctuary hosts many weddings throughout the year.  Capacity ranges from 160 to 200.

This beautiful Gothic window was restored to God's glory in 2001.  Originally, it was dedicated at the turn of the century, reminding all of the commandment to "Honor Thy Father and Thy Mother".

This window was dedicated to God's glory in memory of Mr. and Mrs. D.A. January.  Mrs. January was the first Post Mistress of Osawatomie and a political activist for the Republican party.

Frank Platt Memorial Reflection and Prayer Nook

Prayer is an important part of our lives at First Presbyterian.  Members and friends find refuge in this nook as they lift one another up in thought and prayer.  This space keeps a spirit of worship in our sanctuary throughout the week.

We are an exciting and open place to begin, or continue your Christian journey. It would be our priviledge to receive you any Sunday Morning at 10:30 for worship service.
